Calculation Methods for Stone Weight, Volume, and Transportation Costs
1. Stone Weight Calculation
Density Knowledge:
Granite density: approximately 2.6-3.3g/cm³
Marble density: approximately 2.5g/cm³
Calculation Formula:
Stone weight = Length × Width × Thickness × Specific Gravity
2. Stone Transportation Cost Calculation
The price of each piece of stone block = Length × Width × Height × Specific Gravity × Price/ton.
The transportation cost per square meter of stone = Freight cost × Stone weight (Length × Width × Thickness × Specific Gravity) / Square meter count
3. Stone Thickness and Weight Calculation
Thickness Conversion:
1 centimeter (cm) = 10 millimeters (mm) = 0.01 meters (m)
Common Thicknesses:
Granite: 15mm, 19mm, 25mm, 30mm, 50mm
Marble: 20mm, 30mm, 40mm
Roman slate, imported slate: 12mm, 19mm
Weight Estimation Examples:
Granite, Marble: 5 points (16mm) = 4.5 kg; 6 points (19.2mm) = 5 kg; 3 cm = 7.5 kg
Roman slate: 4 points (12.8mm) = 2.8 kg; 6 points (19.2mm) = 4.4 kg
4. Stone Price Calculation Method
Take the three common thicknesses of 18mm, 25mm, and 30mm as examples to illustrate the process of calculating material prices:
Stone block must be cut and processed into a usable shape and thickness
The amount of material from each cubic meter of stone block is calculated as 1000 ÷ (Thickness + Sawing Seam)
Consider saw blade thickness loss, rough material section irregularity, and edge trimming loss
5. Specific Price Calculation Examples
Taking a material price of 6000 yuan/cubic meter and a cutting fee of 80 yuan/square meter as an example:
Cost price calculation: 6000 ÷ Yield
Add cutting fees and consider a 90% cutting utilization rate
The factory's quote considers a 15% profit margin
6. Freight Cost Calculation
The freight cost varies according to the thickness of the stone:
18mm stone: 8~10 yuan/㎡
25mm stone: 14~16 yuan/㎡
30mm stone: 18~23 yuan/㎡
7. Cylinder Stone, Special-shaped Stone Price Calculation
The price is calculated based on cost plus profit, including material cost, processing cost, and gross profit
The processing cost varies due to the shape, processing difficulty, materials, equipment, and processing capabilities of various factories
Experienced masters will use empirical formulas for calculation
