How engraving works

An engraving machine is a tool used to cut, carve, or etch designs onto a variety of materials with high precision. These machines are versatile and can be used across different industries, including jewelry-making, gemstone collecting, and general manufacturing, for tasks such as inscribing logos, serial numbers, or intricate designs onto surfaces. The process typically involves a cutting tool or a laser that removes material to create the desired pattern or text.

Engraving machines can be either manual or computer-controlled. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) engraving machines are programmed to follow specific paths, using rotary tools to cut into the material and transform digital designs into tangible engravings. Laser engraving machines, on the other hand, use a high-energy laser beam to mark objects, causing physical or chemical changes that result in permanent markings.
